Seoul Metropolitan Government, 2,800 public housing units for low-income and newly married couples this year...Application application

- 2,500 units for low-income families, such as basic living beneficiaries, and 300 units for newlyweds;

- Up to 110 million won for low-income families per household and 240 million won for newlyweds are provided with low interest rates on lease deposits.

- 21.3.24 (Wednesday) to 4.2 (Friday) The application will be received at the Dong Community Center in the relevant autonomous region and announced about three months before the application deadline.



□ The Seoul Metropolitan Government will supply 2,800 public housing* for low-income families and newlyweds, including basic livelihood recipients and single-parent families, in 2021, 2,500 of which will be supplied to low-income families and 300 to newlyweds.

*Public housing with rent: It means rental housing for existing housing



□ Rental housing is a public rental house in which the Seoul Housing & Urban Corporation reviews the availability of the lease and contracts with the owner of the house and re-rents it cheaply to the tenant.



□ In the case of low-income earners, the Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation will provide 95% of the monthly rent deposit at low interest rates within 110 million won per household, and the remaining 5% will be paid as a deposit by the tenant. Up to 98 percent of the monthly rent deposit can be provided to those who wish to among low-income families. If the monthly rent deposit exceeds 110 million won, the tenant can pay the excess deposit.



□ Persons eligible for application shall be members of the household without housing, which resides in Seoul as of the date of public announcement (2021.3.17) and whose resident registration is registered in the target area (each autonomous district).



○ In the case of low-income earners, the first priority is living and medical recipients, single-parent families, residential support hourly households, persons with disabilities with an average monthly income of less than 70% per urban worker in the previous year, and the elderly.



○ In the case of newlyweds, the criteria for first, second, and third place are different for each type, and the specific detailed criteria are as specified in the attached Table.



□ Of the total 2,800 units, 2,500 units are supplied to basic livelihood recipients and single-parent families, and 300 units are supplied to newlyweds. In order to evenly distribute the number of applications by region, they are distributed proportionally by autonomous region.



□ The maximum amount of deposit for a house with a dedicated area of 85㎡ or less (one person household is 60㎡ or less) is within KRW 275 million for low-income households and KRW 3007.5 million for new couples.

○ In the case of officetels, they must have floor heating, cooking facilities, and toilets to enable residential life, and the housing they currently reside in can also be supported if the requirements are met.



□ The lease period is two years and can be renewed up to nine times every two years as long as the qualification is maintained. (In case of newlywed lease II, it can be renewed up to two additional times if the tenant has children.) However, the conditions for occupancy shall be met.



□ Applications for public housing assistance for low-income families can be submitted through the Community Service Center (Dong office) for residents registration from 21.331. (Wednesday) to 3.30 (Tuesday) and low-income families from 21.331 (Wednesday) to 4.2 (Friday) Those subject to move in and prospective tenants will be announced on the website of the Seoul Housing and Urban Innovation Corporation about three months before the application deadline and will notify the subject individually.



○ If the number of applications for the first priority of low-income households exceeds three times the number of supply, the second priority may not be received.
