The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 19th that it will launch the "Domestic Satellite (Next Generation Medium Satellite 1)" developed by Korea's independent technology at 11:07 a.m. on the 20th (3:07 p.m. Korean time).

국토위성은 지난 1월 22일 바이코누르 우주센터로 이동해 한국항공우주연원 기술진이 50여일간 기능점검, 연료주입, 발사체와 조립 등 발사준비 작업을 성공리에 모두 완료한 상황이다.

The satellite will be loaded onto the Soyuz 2.1a projectile and launched.

The satellite will be separated from the projectile about 64 minutes after launch and will communicate with the Norwegian Svalbard ground station for the first time in about 38 minutes (about 102 minutes after launch).

Through this, it is expected that it will be possible to check whether the national territory satellite has settled in its mission orbit normally.

After the launch, the satellite will provide precision ground-based observations to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport after an initial operation process of more than three months at an altitude of 497.8 kilometers.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Satellite Center plans to process and process accurate ground observation images with high quality (location accuracy of 1~2m) and provide them to demand institutions for use in space and private services such as land, resource management, disaster and disaster response.
