Operation of 80 cities and counties nationwide "Living in rural areas" in earnest

Starting this year, the "Living in a Rural Area" program will be implemented in earnest to experience jobs and living in rural areas for a long time.



The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said it will recruit participants from the 19th for the newly introduced "Living in Rural Areas" program for urban residents who want to return to farming and rural areas.

"Living in rural areas" is a project to induce successful settlement by providing urban residents with opportunities to live in rural areas for a long time, experience jobs, life, and interact with local residents before implementing farming and returning to rural areas.



Participants will be provided with up to six months of housing (such as farming and fishing village experience recreation villages, return homes, etc.) and will be paid 300,000 won for sincere participation in the program for 15 days a month. There is no extra entry fee.



Participants receive dense living support not only for farming technology education, but also for rural areas such as local job experiences, resident exchanges, and local exploration through village-specific programs.



98 villages were selected from 80 cities and counties nationwide, and the size of the village is scheduled to be operated is about 500 households.



By city and county, there are 20 places in Jeonnam, 17 in Gyeongbuk, and 12 in Jeonbuk.



"Return type" will be held in 36 places, including Guryu Mountain Village in Gimje City, and 51 places, including Hwangryong Village in Yangyang-gun, which supports overall rural life, such as rural understanding, resident exchange, and local exploration.



In addition, the "Project Participation Type" will be held in 11 places to support opportunities for participation by planning short-term projects to help young people experience various rural jobs and activities.



The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs expects the number of participating villages to increase as nine cities and counties are working on the selection process in addition to 80 cities and counties.



Participants shall be residents of the Dong area aged 18 or older, and shall not apply for the operation village of the Si/Gun in connection with the Si/Gun/Gu where the participant applicant resides.



When a person intends to participate with a family member or acquaintance, he/she may file an application by forming a family unit or a team.

Participants will be required to participate in phone or video interviews conducted for selection screening in the village from the day after the recruitment deadline, and if they are confirmed as participants, they will receive a text message that the application has been approved.



The first move-in and program will begin on the 29th.



Participation in the program is possible in up to two villages within six months. The participation period may be applied on a monthly basis from one month to six months, and the participation period will be finalized after consultation with the operation village.



The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to post handwritten and video clips of activities on the "living" community page to help exchange information among participants and promote the village.
