Gyeonggi Provincial Government will support the expansion of medical and administrative personnel to health centers and promote the collection of samples for dental public health in order to establish a response system against the Korona-194th pandemic. In order to prevent the spread of foreign collective infections, the province will also push for an additional administrative order that only foreign workers who have undergone diagnostic tests should be hired.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung attended a meeting of the Korona 19 Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters presided over by Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun on the morning of the 16th and said, "I think the situation is worse than I thought." We need to establish a response system to prepare for the fourth pandemic.

Governor Lee Jae-myung said, "Foreign employment businesses are gradually decreasing past the peak, and collective infections are occurring in places such as taekwondo centers, daycare centers, and sports facilities."

The provincial government's measures will be carried out in two directions: strengthening community quarantine and strengthening the community's ability to respond.

First of all, the province plans to strengthen diagnostic tests for workers at workplaces and workplaces to strengthen quarantine in the local community.

To this end, the province said it is preparing a new administrative order for employers to hire only those who have undergone diagnostic tests when hiring foreign workers as an additional measure following an administrative order for foreigners.

In addition, the government will conduct a random inspection to check whether the regulations are complied with or not, and will also push for mandatory electronic entry and exit lists instead of handwritten lists.

In order to strengthen the ability to respond to local communities, medical and administrative personnel will be supported at health centers. The province is currently receiving some support from the central accident management headquarters at the health center, but the city and county health centers will prepare a plan to support labor costs if they hire clinical pathologists and fixed-term workers as administrative personnel. The provincial government will also establish a cooperative system to support health centers by mobilizing all the capabilities of local governments.

Governor Lee emphasized the need to expand manpower support, saying, "We will also have dental public health doctors work on sample collection to expand sample collection personnel." Accordingly, the provincial government delivered an official letter to each city and county on the 8th.

The government will also consider expanding pre-emptive periodic tests at infectious and vulnerable facilities. Currently, the province conducts inspections once a week for workers in nursing and mental hospitals (facilities), nursing facilities and residential facilities for the severely disabled, homeless facilities, oriental medicine hospitals, and rehabilitation hospitals. The government is considering expanding the target to include workers in meat processing, construction sites, and sports facilities. The specific group subject to pre-emptive testing has yet to be confirmed.

"Covid-19 has been on the rise due to the steady trend of small and medium-sized workplaces, more confirmed foreigners, and childcare facilities such as indoor sports facilities and daycare centers," said an official from the Korona19 Emergency Response Team in Gyeonggi Province.
