우리나라 코로나 진단법이 미국 FDA에서 not adequate 판정을 받았다는 미국 의회 청문회 포스팅에 대해 비난이 일고 있다. 내가 가짜뉴스 생산자라는 것이다.

억울하다. 나는 한번도 우리 키트가 엉터리라고 말하지 않았다. 다만 의사출신 미국 공화당 의원의 멘트가 나왔는데 언론이 침묵하면 안된다고 판단했다. 페북에서 나는 시종일관 이런 충격적 발언이 생중계 영상을 통해 전세계 알려졌으니 진위파악이 있어야한다고 강조했다. 안그래도 위음성 문제가 계속 지적되어 왔던 터였다.

어떤 분들은 내가 혈청검사와 분자검사를 구별하지 못했다고 말한다. 어이없다. 내가 그 정도도 구분하지 못하고 의학기자를 할까싶다.

문제의 생중계 영상은 두개가 있다. 하나는 문제가 된 not adequate 영상이고 또하나는 공화당 의원이 혈청검사에 대한 언급이 있는 영상이다. 즉 하나의 영상에서 나온게 아니다.
그래서 사람들이 공화당 의원이 무식해서 혈청검사를 갖고 엉뚱한 질문을 했다고 오해할 수 있다.

중요한 것은 not adequate 영상은 사람들의 비난처럼 혈청검사가 아닌 분자검사로 판단된다는 것이다. 행여 나의 편견이 개입된 것은 아닌지 이 분야 다른 전문가에게도 물어왔다. 그분도 나와 같은 생각이었다. 혈청검사 갖고 FDA가 부적합하다고 말하는 것은 이상하다는 것이다. 그리고 혈청검사는 지금이나 과거나 한국도 그리고 미국도 허가대상이 아니라고 말한다. 수입업자가 그런 것을 수입해와서 미국에서 허가를 받으려하진 않았을 것이란 설명이다.

사실관계는 확인이 필요하다. 어느 쪽인지 지켜봐야한다. 그러나 나는 당시 정황에서 양심에서도(왜냐하면 나에게 불리한 혈청검사 부분도 영어원문 그대로 번역해 올렸다) 그리고 전문가적 식견에서도 최선을 다한 판단이었음을 강조하고 싶다.

나의 취지는 이런 충격적 멘트가 나왔으니 확인해보자는 것이었다. 그런데 우리 키트가 엉터리란 말이냐? 왜 열심히 일하는 정부만 비판하느냐?고 황당하게 덧씌우기를 하고 있다. 가짜뉴스는 기자만 만드는게 아니다. 순수한 의도를 엉뚱하게 각색해 보기싫은 기자를 마녀사냥하는 독자도 만들 수 있다

Critics are accusing the US Congressional Hearing that the Korean corona diagnostic method has not been adequately judged by the US FDA. I am a fake news producer. It is unfair. I have never said our kit is crap. However, the comment of the Republican Congressman from the doctor came out, but the media decided that it should not be silent. In facebook, I stressed that there must be authenticity since these shocking comments were known all over the world through live video. Nevertheless, the problem of false negatives had been pointed out.

Some people say that I didn't distinguish between serum and molecular tests. Outrageous I don't know how much to do it, so I'm wondering if I'm a medical journalist. There are two live video in question. One is the not adequate video in question, and the other is the Republican lawmaker's reference to a serological test. That is, it did not come from one video. So people can misunderstand that Republicans are ignorant and have serologic questions.

The important thing is that not adequate images are judged as molecular tests, not serum tests, as people criticize. Had I asked other experts in this field if my bias was involved. He was the same as me. It is strange to have a serological test and say that the FDA is unsuitable. And serological tests say that neither Korea nor the United States are subject to permits. The explanation is that the importer would not have tried to obtain permission from the United States after importing it. The facts need to be confirmed. You have to watch which one. However, I would like to emphasize that it was the best judgment in the context at the time, even in conscience (because the serotest section against me was translated into the original English text) and in expert opinion.

My purpose was to check this out, as this shocking comment came out. But are you saying that our kit is crap? Why are you criticizing only a hard-working government? Fake news isn't just about reporters. You can even make a reader who hunts a reporter who doesn't want to see you misrepresenting your pure intentions.
